I owe it to myself to let you in
Years of closing off my heart out of protection and
though, I needed it
I also needed to realize that vulnerability is a risk always worth taking
And I was trying to keep my heart from breaking
When in reality every time it does it opens up a little more
My sister tells me that this is how we love deeper
To allow ourselves to meet face to face in a warm embrace and not run away
Experience the depths of it all and still choose to stay
I am here for this
